Our History

How it all started...

Lighthouse Baptist Church was a church plant that was started by Pastor Ryan, Sarah, their two children and two other couples.  Ryan & Sarah grew up near Wilmington, Ohio and served at the Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington, before following the call of God to come to Chillicothe to plant the new church. LBC Began with 8 people meeting at the Riverview Conference Center, Christopher Inn on Sundays and held midweek services at the local YMCA in August 2003.  Attendance grew to 40+ by November 2003.

November 2003

Then LBC renovated & moved into a vacant building at 1542 N. Bridge St. in Nov. 2003.  LBC organized with 45 charter members on Jan. 25, 2004.  There they continued until May 2005.

May 2005

LBC moved into the former First Capital Craft Mall in May 2005 and quickly outgrew the facility.

June 2007

We purchased and remodeled the former Chillicothe Baptist Church, and moved into it in June of 2007.  Once again after much growth we looked for options to answer our problems.

March 2012 - December 2023

In March 2012 we began to have services at two campuses and purchased the North Campus(former First Capital Craft Mall)

January 2014 - April 2015

On March 30, 2014 we had our Grand Opening at our new campus in Circleville, Ohio at Evert's Middle School.  In September, 2014 we purchased the former Court Street Elementary School.

2017

In January 2017, as we prepared to charter LBC Circleville Campus, we merged the two Chillicothe Campuses together at our current site. In March 2017 we ordained Pastor Nathan & Ciera Woodworth as the LBC Circleville Campus chartered and became the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Circleville.

AUGUST 2022

As the church continued to grow the opportunity arose to purchase and remodel 409 Clinton Road and expanded by moving our church offices into the adjacent house and 2.1 acres!  God has continued to grow LBC!

JANUARY 2025

To the Glory of God, He has increased the church steadily and in widespread ways!  The Lord has increased our borders to reach our city and world for the gospel of Jesus Christ!  In January 2025 we launched our vision for our new sanctuary to come!
